Welcome!

Operation Aware is an award-winning non-profit organization that equips youth, through prevention education, with the knowledge and skills to make positive life choices. Founded in 1979, the program currently serves around 20,000 students every academic year across NE Oklahoma.

The goal of our classes is to provide drug, violence, and risk prevention education to children and teens in the classroom from pre-kindergarten through high school. We share a strong, clear message with young people that their choices today about drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and relationships can have lifelong consequences for their health, safety and wellbeing. We teach students techniques that help them resist negative peer pressure and make positive decisions that move them toward their goals and dreams and away from high risk behaviors.

Our results are young people who are equipped with communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and relationship skills needed to be strong, confident leaders of tomorrow.

Is Operation Aware in your child's school? If not, why not? In order to reach as many NE Oklahoma children as possible, we are happy to develop solutions that meet most budget circumstances. Ask your school or district officials to get in touch with us. Or contact us yourself and we can initiate the discussion with your school instead.

Why Operation Aware?

"My students have benefited from your program in immeasurable ways. As a result, I see evidence of them making positive choices and treating their peers with an attitude of mutual respect. They are conscious of their classroom behavior and understand that the choices they are making affect not only them, but those around them….my students now own many tools that will help them reduce their likelihood of becoming a target of violence." -- Ronia Davison, Milken Educator, NBCT, Muskogee Schools

Additional Teacher Comments

"My students really enjoyed the program (and our presenter.) One student talked to her mom about what she’s been learning, and her mom quit smoking!"

"This was the first time I had this program in my class. I think it was wonderful!"

"I love the Operation Aware program. The teachers are well prepared. I learn something new every time."

"My students are better informed about important issues and are equipped to make good choices when faced with certain issues."
